On a darkling plain

Last autumn, I started a website called A Selfless Art to document the book I’ve been working on since 2023. I saw it as a space to test ideas but it is a distraction and a dead end. I’ve closed that site and brought the project back here but I can’t work on the book at the moment. Not for the first time, I find myself putting my work on hold. It is not significant in these dark times, where ignorant armies clash by night and the best path is silence.

I avoid listening to the news in the morning. I sometimes find a visit to an art gallery can help my mood. It reminds me why a kid from a council estate wanted to become an artist. Hope to see you in Cov soon.

Sending light and love as always – keep writing and sharing when you can, reach out, we are here waiting with hands outstretched. Thank you, as your words are significant to me and the thoughts it brings.

Like children bathing on the shore          Buried a wave beneath,          The second wave succeeds before          We have had time to breathe.
