The book combines a nuanced, careful study of participatory art with a detectable passion, born of Matarasso’slifelong experience of the form. This is not dry dissection: the writing is lived, in the field, partisan.

The English edition of A Restless Art was published on 17 January 2019 by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation UK Branch. It is available from Central Books, and through the Foundation’s website and costs £10, plus postage. Free digital copies (as PDF files) are available through this website. The Portuguese edition was published in May 2019.
