Research on participatory opera and music theatre

SIMM (Social Impact of Music Making) is a platform linking academic researchers with practitioners committed to music as a path to positive social change. Based in Belgium, it has connections across the world, and organises a series of conferences, exchanges and similar events. In partnership with the Liceu Opera House in Barcelona, Simm is organising a research seminar over three days in June 2023. During the seminar 10-20 researchers will share their experiences of the social dimensions of participatory opera and music theatre. There is no registration fee, but participants will need to cover their own costs in attending.

The call is now open to post-graduate students, early-career and experienced researchers and expressions of interest should be submitted to Lukas Pairon by 15 April 2023. Follow this link for more details of the event and how to apply.
